Top tips for scholarship freshers
In summer we asked our existing scholarship students what advice or top tip they’d give to new students from a care or estranged background. They came up with a pool of one line wisdoms covering mental and physical health as well as essential self management for study. We sent these on our welcome postcards along with some sweet treats to share with new flatmates.
All young people benefit from encouragement and support on the transition into university life and our scholarship students are no different; it’s important too that they’re aware there are many other care leavers and estranged students just like them having been on this path before.
I wonder what advice our 70 new scholarship students will pass on this time next year?
