Unite Foundation

Commissioning of Major Research

In October this year The Unite Foundation commissioned a major piece of research on the subject of care leaver and estranged student outcomes and put out a call for tender to attract prospective research bids.

The proposed question is: “What factors affect access, retention and graduate outcomes for students with a background of care or family estrangement; what practical recommendations would support positive outcomes for this group?” The Foundation is confident of finding out more about what we can do to support our scholars through their university years so that they can continue to achieve once they have graduated. Additionally, gathering information on what happens to our scholars means that we can fully assess our social impact.

The application window closed on Wednesday 31st October by which time we had received a number of high quality bids. The Research Sub-Group, made up of Foundation Trustees, have decided upon a successful research bidder. Details imminent!

The Foundation is looking forward to working with the successful research team and to the published report which is expected in July 2019.
